About Heelheid

We Were Built to Solve a Problem Most People Prefer to Ignore.

Founders are expected to master strategy, operations, leadership, finance, technology, and organisational design simultaneously, while running the business itself. That expectation is unrealistic. Heelheid exists because we believe there is a better way.

Why We Exist

Most businesses don't fail because founders lack ambition or intelligence.

They struggle because building an enduring company requires capabilities that no single person naturally possesses in isolation. Strategy must align with operations. Leadership must match the demands of each stage. Systems must be built before growth exposes their absence. Technology must serve the business, not define it.

Many founders become trapped inside their own companies because every important decision depends on them personally. As complexity increases, the gap between what they can do alone and what the business requires grows wider. Most entrepreneurial ecosystems respond by encouraging founders to move faster, raise capital earlier, and scale aggressively. These incentives reward speed over strength.

Heelheid was established because we believe the gap between having the ambition to build a remarkable company and possessing the capabilities required to actually build one is closeable. When that gap is closed, founders become stronger leaders, businesses become stronger institutions, and the work creates value that lasts.

Founders working together on strategy and execution

What We Believe

These are the convictions that shape every decision we make.

01

Businesses are built, not discovered.

Exceptional companies rarely emerge by accident. Behind every enduring business are thousands of deliberate decisions made consistently over time. Culture, systems, governance, and leadership are all the result of conscious choices, not fortunate circumstances.

02

Strength must precede scale.

Growth amplifies existing conditions. Strong systems become more valuable. Weak systems become more damaging. Scaling an immature business simply magnifies its weaknesses. We strengthen the business before accelerating it. Resilience first, growth as a consequence.

03

Partnership creates better businesses than transactions.

Building a remarkable business requires continuity, trust, shared learning, and long-term commitment. Heelheid rejects advice delivered at arm's length. Our role is to remain engaged beyond recommendations and work alongside founders as their organisation becomes progressively more capable.

04

Revenue earned is more powerful than capital raised.

External capital can accelerate growth. It cannot replace customer value, product-market fit, or operational discipline. Founders who build genuine traction before seeking investment negotiate from leverage, not need. We encourage that sequence as a competitive advantage.

05

Founders rarely outgrow the quality of their leadership.

Businesses become what their leaders are capable of creating. For this reason, developing the founder and developing the business are inseparable. Every partnership Heelheid enters is as much about building stronger leaders as it is about building stronger companies.

06

Independence is the measure of a successful partnership.

The purpose of every engagement is to make the business more capable, not more dependent. Success is measured by how confidently a venture can operate without intensive studio involvement. If a company cannot function without Heelheid, the partnership has not fulfilled its objective.

Our Identity

Heelheid is a venture-building company. Nothing more, nothing less.

The entrepreneurial ecosystem is crowded with organisations that claim to serve founders. Most serve themselves. The clearest thing Heelheid can offer is precision about what it is and what it is not.

What Heelheid is

A venture-building partner.

We work alongside founders to strengthen the business across strategy, operations, leadership, systems, and commercial development. Not from a distance. Alongside.

A long-term commitment.

Partnerships are designed to last through stages of the business, not end when a project is delivered. We measure our contribution in years, not engagements.

A developer of founders.

We consider the growth of the founder inseparable from the growth of the company. Stronger leaders build stronger institutions.

A builder of organisational capability.

Our work focuses on developing the systems, processes, and people that allow a business to function and grow beyond any individual, including the founder.

What Heelheid is not

Not a venture capital firm.

Capital is not our primary product. We believe strong businesses should earn leverage before pursuing investment. Our partnerships are centred on company building, not financing.

Not an accelerator.

Accelerators operate in cohorts with fixed timelines. Heelheid forms partnerships shaped around the unique needs of each venture. Our commitment continues beyond any programme structure.

Not a consultancy.

Consultants analyse and recommend. Heelheid remains engaged beyond recommendations and works alongside founders to strengthen execution and build organisational capability.

Not a startup factory.

We care far less about the number of companies created than the quality of the companies that endure. Volume is not the ambition. Excellence is.

Structure, direction, and long-term thinking

How We Measure Success

Not by deals closed. Not by capital raised.

Most venture organisations measure success by the metrics that are easiest to announce: portfolio size, capital deployed, valuations reached. These metrics are visible. They are rarely the most important.

Heelheid measures success differently, and holds itself to those measures because they reflect what we actually believe about company building.

Founder capability

Every partnership should produce a stronger leader. If the founder leaves the engagement thinking the same way they entered it, we have failed our most important responsibility.

Organisational strength

A stronger business should have clearer strategic direction, more mature systems, sounder governance, and a healthier culture than when the partnership began.

Sustainable commercial performance

Revenue growth that results from stronger organisational capability, not from unsustainable effort or temporary tactics. We value consistency over spikes.

Long-term independence

When a venture can operate confidently without intensive studio involvement, that is the result we were always working toward. Independence is the measure of a successful partnership.

The Founder

Wale Adebayo, Founder and CEO of Heelheid Ventures Studio

Wale Adebayo

Founder and CEO, Heelheid Ventures Studio LLC

Heelheid was built from a clear-eyed view of what founders actually need.

Wale Adebayo founded Heelheid after observing a pattern that repeats across markets and industries: capable founders building real businesses that stall, not from lack of ambition, but from the absence of operational depth, leadership structure, and repeatable systems that enduring companies require. The problem was clear. The solution was harder. Most organisations offering to help were optimised for something other than the founder's long-term success.

His background spans product strategy, business operations, commercial systems, and the practical work of building ventures from the ground up. That combination shaped a central conviction: the most valuable thing a studio can do is not fund founders, advise them from a distance, or hand them a framework. It is to work alongside them, with genuine accountability, through the stages where the company actually becomes what it is capable of becoming.

Heelheid was built around that conviction. The studio's first venture, KerlHive, is active in the healthcare sector, helping experienced nurses and caregivers build independent businesses. Others are in development across legal technology and the creator economy. Each is held to the same question: does this solve a meaningful problem in a way that can become an enduring business?

Wale's vision for Heelheid is specific. Build the kind of institution that takes company building seriously enough to measure its own success by the independence and resilience of the businesses it helps create, not by the volume of relationships it accumulates.

“Founders deserve more than advice delivered from a distance. They deserve a partner committed to strengthening both the founder and the business.”

Our Ambition

We are building an institution, not running a programme.

Heelheid's long-term ambition is not to become the largest venture studio or the most well-funded. The ambition is more specific and, we believe, more difficult to achieve.

We want to be recognised, over decades, as the organisation that took company building seriously enough to produce businesses capable of enduring beyond founders, market cycles, and technological trends. If future generations of founders think differently about what it means to build a business, and Heelheid contributed to that shift, the work will have been worth doing.

Mission

To partner with founders in building stronger, more enduring businesses through disciplined execution, operational excellence, and long-term partnership.

Vision

To redefine how enduring businesses are built by becoming the most trusted venture-building institution for serious founders.

The Heelheid Standard

Does this make the business more capable of succeeding independently over the long term? That question governs every decision we make.
